Redevelopment Project for Neighborhood

Low- to moderate-income families now enjoy the security of their own homes, in a revitalized neighborhood, thanks to the efforts of the Beulah Land Development Corporation and the completion of its Orchard Street Redevelopment Project. Beulah received the funding for this project in part from the Greater New Haven Community Loan Fund – one of the community investment partners of the Adrian Dominican Sisters’ Portfolio Advisory Board (PAB).

Beaulah's Orchard Street Redevelopment Project

Through the Orchard Street Redevelopment Project, Beulah has rehabilitated four properties containing six housing units, all of which now fully occupied. This is one of several projects undertaken by the BLDC to transform dilapidated, absentee-owned housing structures and vacant lots into beautifully renovated, affordable properties for low- to moderate-income residents. Beulah’s accomplishments also include Walter S. Brooks Elderly Homes at Ormont Court, a 12-unit supportive housing development for the elderly.
