     The Adrian Dominican Sisters are in partnership with a variety of organizations that share our goals and vision to make corporations socially responsible. They include the following:

Partners

Intercommunity Peace and Justice Center (IPJC)
The Intercommunity Peace and Justice Center promotes just structures in the church and in the world, with a particular focus on the Pacific Northwest. IPJC is sponsored by 17 religious communities and collaborates with Catholic, ecumenical, interfaith and other organizations in carrying out this mission. The Northwest Coalition for Responsible Investment, one of the Center’s programs, works in collaboration with the Portfolio Advisory Board in its corporate responsibility activities. The Adrian Dominican Sisters are one of the Center’s sponsors.

Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR)
A national coalition of 275 faith-based institutional investors, including denominations, religious communities, pension funds, healthcare corporations, foundations and dioceses with a combined portfolio worth an estimated $100 billion. They merge social values with investment decisions and utilize their investments and resources to change unjust, harmful corporate policies, and to work for peace, economic justice and stewardship of the Earth. The Adrian Dominican Sisters have been an active member of ICCR since 1976.

Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW)
The CIW is a community-based worker organization. Our members are largely Latino, Haitian, and Mayan Indian immigrants working in low-wage jobs throughout the state of Florida. Organizers of Taco Bell; McDonald’s, and Burger King workers’ campaigns have successfully lobbied for increased wages.
 

Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economies (CERES)
CERES is a coalition of investors, public pension funds, foundations, labor unions, and environmental, religious and public interest groups, working in partnership with companies toward the common goal of corporate environmental responsibility worldwide. CERES is the institutional home of the CERES Principles and the creator and secretariat of the Global Reporting Initiative.

Agribusiness Accountability Initiative
Co-sponsored by the Center of Concern and the National Catholic Rural Life Conference, this initiative challenges corporate control of food.
 

Center of Concern
Since 1971, the Center of Concern has worked with international networks promoting social analysis, theological reflection, policy analysis, political advocacy, research and public education on issues of global development including global women's projects, peace, social justice, food security, human rights, racial justice and rethinking Bretton Woods.

Consumer Policy Institute
The Consumer Policy Institute at the Consumers Union's headquarters in Yonkers, New York, promotes the consumer's interests through research and education projects, conferences, policy papers, and comment on legislative and regulatory initiatives.

Co-op America
This web site leads to the Social Investment Forum with information on socially responsible mutual funds. Co-op America is a national, nonprofit, education organization which has worked with consumers, investors, and businesses for over 17 years, to grow the socially responsible marketplace. Co-op America has over 50,000 individual members and 2,000 business members and is the publisher of National Green Pages.™

Domini Social Investments
Domini Social Investments expresses its ideals and uses its capital in three basic ways: social screening, shareholder activism and community development. Domini votes all of its proxies according to principles of social responsibility, publishes its annual proxy voting guidelines, and publicly discloses all of its proxy votes. Domini engages corporations in dialogue on social issues, and occasionally files shareholder resolutions to place these issues on the proxy ballot.

Economic Policy Institute
The mission of the Economic Policy Institute is to provide high-quality research and education in order to promote a prosperous, fair, and sustainable economy. The Institute stresses real world analysis and a concern for the living standards of working people, and it makes its findings accessible to the general public, the media, and policy makers.

Environmental Working Group
The mission of the Environmental Working Group (EWG) is to use the power of public information to protect public health and the environment. The EWG specializes in providing useful resources (like Skin Deep and The Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce) to consumers while simultaneously pushing for national policy change.

Free the Slaves
Free the Slaves is a not-for profit formed in response to Dr. Kevin Bales' groundbreaking book, Disposable People. The award-winning book introduced much of the world to modern-day slavery, including a business strategist and a television producer.

Health Care Without Harm
Health Care Without Harm, the Campaign for Environmentally Responsible Health Care, has a mission to transform the health care industry worldwide, without compromising patient safety or care, so that it is ecologically sustainable and no longer a source of harm to public health and the environment.
 

Jubilee USA Network
A part of the international movement calling for cancellation of the unpayable debt of the world's poorest countries under a fair and transparent process.

 

National Catholic Rural Life Conference
The National Catholic Rural Life Conference is a membership organization that serves the mission of the Church by communicating a Catholic perspective and urging public action on rural life and environmental issues.

Our Stolen Future

The web site of the authors of the book Our Stolen Future, which provides regular updates about cutting-edge science related to endocrine disruption; information about ongoing policy debates; as well as new suggestions about what you can do as a consumer and citizen to minimize risks related to hormonally-disruptive contaminants.

Oxfam America
Oxfam America is a non-profit organization that works to end global poverty through saving lives, strengthening communities, and campaigning for change. We are an affiliate of Oxfam International.

Social Investment Forum
A national, nonprofit membership association, Social Investment Forum (SIF) is dedicated to promoting the concept, practice and growth of socially responsible investing. The SIF web site offers information, contacts and resources on socially responsible investing.

Union of Concerned Scientists
A partnership of citizens and scientists, the Union of Concerned Scientists has been working to preserve health, protect safety and enhance quality of life since 1969.

Risk Metrics
Risk Metrics has acquired Institutional Shareholder Services, which provides research, proxy voting services, and analysis of proxy issues, including social resolution votes and trends.
